Cook spaghetti according to directions of packet.
Add oil to a large pot or skillet and heat on medium. Add onion and garlic, cook for 5 minutes or until light golden and softened.
Turn heat to high and add the ground beef. Break it up into smaller pieces and cook until browned.
Add red wine and simmer for 1 minute.
Add beef bouillon cubes, crushed tomato, tomato paste, sugar,Worcestershire sauce, bay leaves and thyme. Stir, bring to a simmer then turn down to medium so it bubbles gently. Cook for 20 - 30 minutes (no lid), adding water if the sauce gets too thick for your taste. Stir occasionally.
Add salt and pepper to taste along with the uncooked diced tomatoes. Serve over spaghetti. Garnish with parsley.
